The moment
Ray (Kevin Costner) reconciles and reunites with his dead father at sunset on the field he was "inspired to build."

Why we get choked

Maybe it's that moment when Wind in his Hair asks Dances with Wolves if he can see that "he is his friend" and tells him that he "will always be [his] friend" that we missed.

Do you agree that this moment is one of the best?

This is my ALL-TIME favourite scene in any movie anywhere.

I get "choked-up" just thinking about it.

My Father had died the year prior and I had just had my oldest son. My wife and I rented the movie, at the end I was sobbing uncontrollaby, holding my infant son. He and his younger brother have played baseball, ever since they were both 5. My oldest is 14, my youngest is 11. I still cry every time I see that movie.
