Could Rachel Adams be engaged to longtime beau Ryan Gosling? eTalk has pictures of the Canadian actress at the Four Season Hotel in Toronto Wednesday, with a ring on her left hand.

Rachel McAdams, 30, who was raised in St. Thomas, Ontario, is in the city prepping for her next film, "The Time Traveler's Wife," co-starring Eric Bana.

eTalk snapped her during a lunch meeting at the Four Seasons. As she prepared to bike away, a ring was spotted on her left hand.

McAdams met Gosling during the filming of their 2004 movie, "The Notebook." They won the MTV Movie Award for Best Kiss in 2005, which they re-enacted on stage at the awards show.

Gosling, who was born in the same London, Ont. hospital as McAdams, was nominated for an Academy Award this year for his performance as a drug-addicted schoolteacher in "Half Nelson." He came to the Oscars ceremony with his mother and sister, fuelling speculation of a romantic split.

Always quiet about his personal life, Gosling, 26, would only say at the time that McAdams was out of town working.

All this year, the tabloids and gossip websites have alternated between split/secret wedding rumours for the publicity-shy couple.

eTalk gossip columnist Elaine (Lainey) Lui writes on her blog today: "Rachel is exceedingly uncomfortable with those who wish The Notebook upon her relationship and as such would rather encourage break-up rumours than quell them."

eTalk airs weeknights at 7 p.m. on CTV (check local listings), and has the full scoop on hot couples and other celebrity news.

They are Canadian, being an actress or an actor is the same as being a policeman or a secretary, it is a job like any other. They have to be able to have a private life as anyone else does. We should respect their privacy!

Uh, hello - it's "Entertainment" news people. It's listed under the "entertainment" heading, it's on the e-talk site (which in case you hadn't figured out is an "Entertainment" show). If you're not interested (which is pretty obvious you're not) then DO NOT click on the link. Oh, but wait...you did click on the link so you really are interested. Hmmm...as another person commented in another entertainment story "Pick up the mirror buddy"

Who really cares! This is news? I'll never understand why stuff like this is important to report.

Who? And why does anyone care enough to make this a story? How about doing a story on the RCMP in Prince George covering up for one of their own who was accused of child molesting, but the RCMP "convieniently" waited with the investigation until it was too late to press charges. I guess that would be too much work for CTV since it is actually news. CTV should be ashamed, but I expect no less from CTV.
