I love Melissa Williams' work -- it's the simplicity of her choreography. It makes it so powerful. Last night, I was sitting in the audience, really thinking that Jean Marc's amazing as a judge. He brings great insight to the table.

Doing a duet this week was just so much different than working on that huge capoeira number from last week. It was loads of fun to choreograph a contemporary piece to jive music though -- it's not done often. I was inspired in part by the choreographer Twyla Tharp who did a contemporary number to a Billy Joel piece once. I'm a large fan of her work and really appreciate the athleticism in her choreography.

As I said in the rehearsal clips, I often talk in a lot of metaphors when I'm creating a piece. Sometimes it helps the dancers understand the movement better, though sometimes it just confuses them.

I know it's time for me to step back when the dancers have the choreography and know the steps, and I can see it growing each run-though.

Before my dancers go on stage, I really just let them get into their own zone. A lot of performers really need their own space and I find there's a point where you'll just ruin a piece if you try to over clean it.

I met the choreographer for the group number on Thursday and he's amazing. He's got great ideas and I just can't wait to see what he does with the dancers!

Give the younger dancers a chance!

I enjoyed watching Joey and Tamina's dance; it was definitely my favourite dance of the night! I feel as though the younger dancers especially Joey and Tamina aren't being given fair judgements and an opportunity to shine. Last week Joey was in his element as he is a contemporary dancer it was new for Tamina but she tryed her best to keep up, they pulled it off and it looked great. It's frusterating that not all the judges actually watch the dance and then give there coments when really they didn't even pay much attention to it. How is that truly fair judging???? I am looking forward to seeing the judges changed up this week hopefully the new judges will actually add to the more constructive criticism then turning it into a competition of age; and trying to influence the audience to believe a couples dance was bad or good when really it’s the opposite. Last week as sad as it was for Romina and Dario fans that these dancers went home they did not dance as strong as other couples and did mess up a few moves. Also were not as entertaining as other couples therefore it seemed appropriate considering there performance last week. Just because the Judges say a routine is good or bad doesn’t seem to always fit the truth.

It’s a testament to the resiliency of the human spirit that when we find ourselves physically bound in a fatalistic situation, our minds and hearts can still take us to a place of unabashed innocence, freedom and joy. Thanks for the “Crocodile Rock” routine. It reminded me of my first love. He was a Navy SEAL, who blew up things for a living; but behind closed doors loved to jam with me to the “Little Mermaid” soundtrack.

Honestly, I totally agreed with the judges... it was just lacking overall. Granted, I thought the dancers were not respectful when they were talking to the judges, however I believe that the piece could have been a lot better.

to the entire So You think you can Dance Canada family;

I wanted to let each and every one of you know that I have been hooked on the sytycd since the opening auditions show and I really appreciate everyone's efforts towards the 'whole' production'. You have a hit!

I also wanted to comment about how dancers get eliminated, week by week... Fans, please realize that the Judges can only do so much - they offer feedback, opinions about which dancers need to 'bring more' in order to stay, etc. Then it is up to the VOTERS to put 6 dancers in front of the judges in order for them to decide who has to go. If we voters are handing over the stronger dancers for elimination night - who are we to complain later that a gifted, strong, and beautiful dancer has to go home? In this past week alone, the two weakest couples did not even reach the bottom 3 - I was left pondering that; not who the judges were forced to say good bye to.....
I invite all folks who are loving this show and want to continue to see Canada's best dance on - to VOTE, VOTE, VOTE! Let's become part of the team rather than sitting on the sidelines and questioning the judges decisions! Dance On Canada!!

While I do agree that the Crocodile Rock piece was out of the box, it looked as though it could have been fleshed out more in order to have the dancers display more moves that would let them shine. It also looked as though it wasn't rehearsed enought. Just my observation. Despite those two points, this piece was my favourite because it was fresh and fun and that is what I feel that Tamina(especially) and Joey deliver consistently so assigning those two this piece was the perfect choice.

I thought it interesting that most of the Judges didn't seem to "get" your choreography last night.

I think we "got" it, but I'm not entirely sure the dancers did it real justice.

Picking Crocodile Rock for that piece took real courage on your part.

So, great job, and keep up the edgy highly creative work!

I was stunned by the reaction of the judges after your Crocodile Rock number. I thought the choreography, and the dancers, were fresh, fun and athletic.
Extremely entertaining and different, just like your routine from last week.
Bravo!!

Dear Paul

I appreciate you bringing something different so canada can be exposed to 'out of the box' choreography. I agree with the previous comment that respect and maturity WAS not shown to critique the piece. JM is ALWAYS mature, constructive as well as talented. I love his accent!!

Paul B I appreciate your work and how you brought something that most people have not seen, set to the contempoary style. I also agree with the previous comment greater MATURITY should have been shown when critiquing the piece as well as the dancers. JEAN MARC had constructive critique. I feel he knows what he speaks of. As well I love his accent!!!

I absolutely loved the idea behind the piece you choreographed for Joey and Tamira last night. Regardless of how those two young dancers danced it, I was extremely disappointed at what appeared to be a complete and total lack of respect from the judges for your choreography, except perhaps from Jean Marc who tried to draw attention to your work.
