Canada AM design expert Karl Lohnes shares some quick, easy and inventive tips to wrap standard holiday hostess gifts.

Candles:

  • Turn a candle's box into a photo box using photo corners and laser-print photos to cover each side.

Bottles:

  • For an easy and interesting twist, place a bottle of Baileys in a hurricane vase and fill it with nuts. A nutcracker can accompany the gift.

Cookies:

  • You'll give your or hostess two beautiful gifts in one when you present them with a $5 vintage soup tureen filled with delicious cookies.

Flowers:

  • For a fresh twist, take a florist-prepared holiday bouquet and wrap it with a chunky knit scarf. Then display the flowers in a vintage trophy bowl.
