From passed-on memories to your latest vacation pictures, you can turn it all into beautiful artwork to display in your home. With the help of some easy technology, your favourite memories can be creatively displayed. Here are some great ways to add a dash of personal creativity to the walls.

1. Canvas prints

Printed on canvas and framed, you can take a simple vacation photo and put it on canvas. A small image starts at around $50 and up, plus framing options. Canvas prints are very popular wedding and graduation gifts.

2. Shadowbox memories

Taking small memories and shadowboxing then helps to keep the memories alive and allows the stories to be told over and over. RIBBA frames from Ikea are inexpensive ($9 each), which means everyone in the family can create their own frame and hang within a grouping.

3. Turn children's artwork into framed posters

Take a simple finger painting and enlarge it to create big impact with a child's artwork. Instead of displaying 20 pieces on the fridge, choose a new piece to enlarge in the kitchen every few months. A high-quality 24" x 36" poster is around $25, which makes being creative somewhat affordable! Once you purchase the frame you can display a new piece of homemade art every few months.

4. Images on metal

Make any photo or image look very modern by having it printed on a sheet of metal. A small 16" x 24" image on metal is around $135. Adding an image to a metal background is a great way to modernize a photo or artwork that you might not display in a contemporary home.
