Trent Linford and his wife, Corie White, have always held a special feeling in their hearts for the Paul McCartney song, "Maybe I'm Amazed."
In 2005, the Regina couple drove 12 hours to St. Paul, Minn. to see McCartney perform in concert for 20,000 screaming fans.
When McCartney began to sing "Maybe I'm Amazed," Trent amazed his girlfriend by dropping onto one knee and proposing amongst a sea of fans.
Less than one year later, the McCartney fans married. "Maybe I'm Amazed" became the first song that the couple danced to at their wedding.
That romantic story helped the couple win Canada AM's January 2012 contest to see McCartney perform in a private concert held Feb. 9 in Los Angeles. To win, contestants had to explain in 100 words or less why they deserved to hear McCartney perform tunes from his soon-to-be-released CD, "Kisses on the Bottom."
"Amazing," was the only way White could describe this dream come true.
"He could have just read from the phone book and we would have been happy," added Linford.
The ecstatic couple spoke with Canada AM from Los Angeles on Friday, describing all the details behind their exclusive concert.
"Originally we were told there would be 100 people there. But it was 30 friends and family. Right beside me was Elvis Costello," Linford said.
Other stars in the room included British comedian and actor Eric Idle, musician Joe Walsh, Canadian jazz pianist Diana Krall and McCartney's new wife, Nancy Shevell.
The hour-long concert "went by in a flash," Linford said.
During that time, McCartney performed new material from his latest CD, "Kisses on the Bottom."
McCartney also kept the mood fun and breezy throughout the concert, White said.
"We were privy to the before and after banter that occurred in the studio, which was pretty amazing as he talked to his friends and family," she said.
Prior to the concert, the couple watched McCartney get his star unveiled on Hollywood's Walk of Fame.
That experience was topped later in the day, when McCartney signed a CD for the Canadian couple.
"He shook our hands. He said hello. It was hard to believe," Linford said.
