Trent Linford and his wife, Corie White, hold a special feeling in their hearts for the Paul McCartney song, "Maybe I'm Amazed."

In 2005, the Saskatchewan couple drove 12 hours to St. Paul, Minnesota to see Sir Paul perform in a concert for 20,000 screaming fans.

When McCartney began to sing "Maybe I'm Amazed," Trent amazed his girlfriend by dropping onto one knee and proposing.

"I didn't know it was coming. But when he went down on one knee, he didn't even have to propose. I knew exactly what was coming," White told Canada AM's Jeff Hutcheson on Monday in a telephone interview from Regina.

Less than one year later, the McCartney fans married. "Maybe I'm Amazed" became the first song that the couple danced to at their wedding.

That touching personal story has now brought the couple one step closer to their musical hero. It's also made them the envy of McCartney fans all across Canada.

Linford and White have won two tickets to see McCartney perform for 100 lucky fans at the historic Capital Records Building in Los Angeles on Feb. 9.

The couple entered the contest featured on CTV's Canada AM, which launched on Jan. 23 and closed on Jan. 27, 2012.

To win, contestants had to explain in 100 words or less why they deserved to hear McCartney perform tunes from his soon-to-be-released CD, "Kisses on the Bottom."

The couple's win is owed, in part, to Linford's father.

After seeing the contest featured on Canada AM, Linford's dad phoned his son and urged him to enter with "such a good story."

The thrilled couple will be flown to L.A. by Universal Music Canada for two days. They'll also leave the happy grandparents of their two young children behind to babysit as they fly off to hear McCartney.

"We've never been to L.A. The last time we saw him was with 20,000 people. This will be with 100 people," said Linford.

"We're so grateful to CTV and Canada AM for giving us this opportunity of a lifetime," he said.
