Back in May I had the opportunity to cater a very special event in Toronto. A friend, Jeff Harris (photographer) was about to unveil his body of work to the masses.

Jeff has spent the last 15 years as a professional photographer. He's shot everything from hard hitting news to celebrities and in that time he's photographed himself...in fact a photo a day of himself for 12 years.

The pictures stretched out as far as the eye could see and the exhibit remained at the BCE place for the month of May for all to enjoy.

What most didn't realize is that while we were putting the exhibit/function together, Jeff was in the hospital enduring countless surgeries to remove the cancer he had been diagnosed with back in November...mere weeks after he shot so many wonderful pictures of my wedding.

I was thrilled when the call came in to provide the hors d'oeuvres for such an occasion.

We served Mediterranean Cucumber Cups stuffed with a medley of feta cheese, minced sun-dried tomatoes and kalamata olives; Caprese Skewers (boccocini pearls and grape tomatoes marinated & skewered), Balsamic Mushroom Toasts and delicate Pakoras (julienned vegetables bound together by chick pea batter and fried).

The event was delectable and what a thrill to see Jeff there mere days after being released from the hospital...with a clean bill of health to boot. Very memorable times!

Got a question? Email: Michael and he'll do his best to answer your email and post the response here.
