ST. CATHARINES, Ont. Niagara region police have arrested two men in St. Catharines, Ont., after special markers and flags were taken from the graves of fallen soldiers.
Police say several Maple Leaf markers and Canadian flags were taken from Victoria Lawn Cemetery.
The markers were placed on the graves by the Royal Canadian Legion.
Police located some of the markers at a residence on Tuesday evening, and say they expect to recover the rest.
Dave Jewers, 41, and Chris Brisley, 36, have been charged with theft over $5,000. Brisley is also charged with breach of recognizance.
Jewers was released with a March court date while Brisley was held for a bail hearing.
