VICTORIA — A Victoria, B.C., woman thinks the owner of a rambunctious dog is the one who needs obedience lessons.

Judi Black hopes the owner of the playful pit bull steps forward to apologize for the actions of his pooch and take responsibility for the injuries caused by the dog.

Black says she was walking her own dog in an off-leash area of Victoria earlier this month when her leg was shattered as she was bowled over by the charging pit bull.

According to Black, the owner of the dog eventually arrived and inquired about the accident but left, despite a request to stay nearby.

Other dog park users drove Black to hospital where she needed several pins, a plate and a piece of donor bone to repair her badly broken leg.

Black says she's still waiting for an apology and hopes the owner of the dog will keep it better controlled, noting he's lucky his pet did not slam into a small child.
