A day after police were able to identify possible witnesses in the murder of 19-year-old aspiring actress Maple Batalia, her sister is making a heartfelt plea for people who may have clues to come forward and be willing to testify.

On Friday, police circulated two images of students who were close to the area where Batalia was gunned down on Simon Fraser University's Surrey campus last September. Sgt. Jennifer Pound told CTV News the students have since been identified, but did not confirm whether there have been any advances in the case.

Roseleen Batalia is convinced others have information about her sister's death that could help find and convict who killed her.

"In due time we'll know all those answers, but right now the focus is for the people who were there to speak up, so we can get all the answers," she said.

Roseleen has been trying to move forward by organizing events against violence.

"This way I'm living a positive memory of Maple by doing positive things in the community and I'm not thinking of the negative aspects of her death," she told CTV News. "We've lost a lot of innocence because of violence."

A memorial still stands just feet away from where Maple was killed, and the Batalias are hoping to raise $50,000 by early March for a bursary SFU is collecting funds for in her name.

No suspects have yet been named in the young woman's murder.

I feel that if certain organs were in demand, less effort would be made to revive people. Am I being silly? Not really. I had a bad experience in hospital when my heart stopped, the doctors tried to revive me and failed. They stopped and said I was gone. I came around on my own when the nurse was giving a final BP reading of 'zero'. I heard her declare me dead! It was all I could do to shake my head but they never caught on til I was able to open my eyes. You should have seen them scramble then! I thought the nurse was going to faint. The thing is, I think we may write people off too soon when there is something of value to be gained from them.

Should all Canadians be automatically considered organ donors?
