HALIFAX Police have identified a 20-year-old man who died after one of two shootings in Halifax.
Brandon Lewis Hatcher of Halifax was taken to hospital with a gunshot wound on Friday night and was later pronounced dead.
Police say they got a call for help just after 8:30 p.m. and found Hatcher in the 100 block of Lavender Walk in the Spryfield district.
Const. Brian Palmeter said an autopsy is being conducted today and police continue the homicide investigation.
Palmeter says there have been no arrests in the Hatcher case or the other shooting.
Police were also called to a hospital emergency department around 6 p.m. Friday after a 22-year-old man showed up with a gunshot wound.
The wound was not believed to be life-threatening.
Palmeter says police have been unable to pinpoint the scene of the second shooting.
Police also say the two shootings are not believed to be related.

I feel that if certain organs were in demand, less effort would be made to revive people. Am I being silly? Not really. I had a bad experience in hospital when my heart stopped, the doctors tried to revive me and failed. They stopped and said I was gone. I came around on my own when the nurse was giving a final BP reading of 'zero'. I heard her declare me dead! It was all I could do to shake my head but they never caught on til I was able to open my eyes. You should have seen them scramble then! I thought the nurse was going to faint. The thing is, I think we may write people off too soon when there is something of value to be gained from them.
