His daughter Patti Davis wrote in her memoirs, "He has the ability to make statements that are so far outside the parameters of logic that they leave you speechless." Here's a look back at some of the wit and wisdom of Ronald Reagan:
Reagan on his acting career
"I was the Errol Flynn of the B pictures. I usually played a jet-propelled newspaperman who solved more crimes than a polygraph machine."
In an interview near the end of his second term
"There have been times... when I have wondered how you could do the job if you hadn't been an actor."
Reaction on being asked to run for Governor of California
"After I heard what they said, I almost laughed them out of the house. I can't remember my exact words, but I said, in effect: `You're out of your mind.’ "
During his inaugural address
"In this present (economic) crisis, government is not the solution to our problem."
To his wife after the assassination attempt
"Honey, I forgot to duck."
On the environment
"Approximately 80 percent of our air pollution stems from hydrocarbons released by vegetation. So let's not go overboard in setting and enforcing tough emission standards for man-made sources."
In a speech to the British House of Commons
"What I am describing now is a plan and a hope for the long term -- the march of freedom and democracy which will leave Marxism-Leninism on the ash heap of history as it has left other tyrannies which stifle the freedom and muzzle the self-expression of the people."
In his farewell address
"They called it the Reagan revolution. Well, I’ll accept that, but for me it always seemed more like the great rediscovery, a rediscovery of our values and our common sense."
1994 announcement of Alzheimer's Disease
"When the Lord calls me home whenever that may be, I will leave with the greatest love for this country of ours and eternal optimism for its future."
From his son, Ron Reagan
"Most people think of him in rather simplistic terms. Either he's the guy who brought America back, or he's some sort of dumb actor who lucked out and got to be president."

All of this is well and good but regardless of labelling, consumers have to stop being so ignorant. Do you really think a bottle of Snapple or a bag of Tostitos are good for you, no matter what the label says. Come on people, stupid is as stupid does!
