BOSTON - The Boston Bruins have traded unsigned centre Jason Allison and winger Mikko Eloranta to the Los Angeles Kings in exchange for centre Jozef Stumpel and winger Glen Murray.

Allison has agreed to a three-year deal worth $20 million US with the Kings.

The 26-year-old was the Bruins' leading scorer last season with 95 points, tied for fourth in the NHL. But the Boston captain was unable to reach agreement on a new deal. Allison was reportedly looking at a deal in the $7 million US a season range while Boston countered with $4 million-$5 million US a season.

Eloranta, 29, had no points in six games this season.

Both Stumpel and Murray began their careers in Boston.

The Bruins can use their offence. Boston completed a six-game road trip Tuesday with a 2-0 loss in Toronto. They went 1-3-2 on the trip and scored only eight goals.

Murray was leading the Kings with six goals and five assists in nine games. He scored in Tuesday's 7-1 win in Columbus. Stumpel had three assists in that game, giving him five points on the season.

Murray, who will turn 29 on Nov. 1, was Boston's first choice, 18th overall in the 1991 entry draft. After parts of four seasons with the Bruins, he was traded to Pittsburgh along with Bryan Smolinski in August 1995 in exchange for Kevin Stevens and Shawn McEachern.

Stumpel, 29, was Boston's second choice, 40th overall, also in the '91 draft. He played part of six seasons with the Bruins before getting dealt to the Kings in August 1997 in a deal that brought goaltender Byron Dafoe to the Bruins.
