Travellers are again bustling through Milan's Linate airport, following the worst aviation disaster in Italy's history earlier in the week. Emergency crews worked around the clock to clean-up the wreckage of the fatal collision that killed 118 people.
The airport had been closed since Monday morning when a Scandinavian airlines jet collided with a Cessna, then smashed into a building. The jetliner burst into flames, killing all the passengers and crew on both planes and four ground workers.
Linate is Milan's second airport after the main hub in Malpensa. Investigators say the crash was caused by human error that was likely compounded by poor visibility.
They are now trying to determine if ground radar could have prevented the accident. The system at the airport has not been working for months and the replacement system has yet to be installed.
