Canada's 'Litter King' cleans up
Date: Wed. Jul. 18 2001 9:28 PM ET
If the streets of Comox, B.C. seem a little cleaner than the rest of the country, you can thank the man who calls himself the Canada Litter King. And he's got a message for all Canadians.
Although he was born Gordon Ransom, the Canada Litter King had his name changed legally, so that no one would forget what his real mission is: To keep the streets of this country litter free.
The old national anthem says God keep our land glorious and free,
said Canada Litter King. I don't find no glory in walking down the streets and looking at filth from one end to the other.
With an ice cream bucket for a crown, the Canada Litter King isn't easy to miss, as he goes about his daily business. He acknowledges that his outfit makes him look a little silly, but Canada Litter King said he has little time to worry about what people think.
For years, years, this has been going on, and it's going to grow,
Canada Litter King told CTV News. Pretty soon, the Canadian people are going to see the rats in the streets like you see in other countries.
Once in a while, Canada Litter King's daughter helps him clean trash from the streets. I'm proud of him. I'm really proud of him,
Rachel Ransom said. I think he's the best.
If Canada Litter King is anything, he's an optimist. He hopes one day, his love for a clean Canada catches on. Until then, he's got a message for any pretenders to his throne.
Hello y'all. I don't have too much to say, but I want everybody to reach into their hearts and during the next little while, if you really love this country, think about grabbing a piece of litter once in a while,
he said.
Protect your land, okay? Protect our land. Love it like we should.

This is just wrong but if I were to send something to the politicians I would have sent the brain!
