Melissa Etheridge delays "Rockwalk" induction
Date: Wednesday Jul. 18, 2001 7:22 AM ET
(LOS ANGELES) Flu forced Grammy-winning singer Melissa Etheridge to postpone her induction into Hollywood's RockWalk on Sunset Boulevard.
She had a bad case of the flu and her doctor advised her to rest for the remaining two weeks before she starts a tour,
her publicist, Marcel Pariseau, said Tuesday. Etheridge begins her nine-month tour next month in Florida.
She's fine,
Pariseau said. Etheridge was recovering at her Los Angeles-area home.
The 40-year-old singer-songwriter, known for such hits as Bring Me Some Water, I'm the Only One and I Want to Come Over, had been scheduled for induction into the RockWalk gallery of stars on Wednesday. It was postponed indefinitely.
Etheridge's hand-prints and signature will eventually be alongside such music legends as B.B. King, Brian Wilson, Johnny Cash, Carlos Santana, James Brown, Carl Perkins, Bonnie Raitt, John Lee Hooker and George Martin.
