There's a new game in town

Arena football made its Canadian debut this weekend. The sport's been kicking around for 15 years in the United States, and promoters are hoping to score big with fans on this side of the border.
The Phantoms relocated from Hartford, Conn., to Toronto in the off-season, becoming the first Canadian team in the American Arena Football League. The team made its debut Saturday at the Air Canada Centre.
Rob Godfrey, whose father Paul brought pro baseball to Toronto, has big plans for his new franchise.
We're not only committed to building the Toronto Phantoms,
he said. We're committed to building the league across the country.
Arena football is a little different than the way the sport's been played before. It's played indoors -- and on a field about half the size of a CFL playing area. The smaller field makes for faster play -- and brings the action right into the crowd. Fans interact with players -- and even get to keep stray balls.
Ticket prices in the AFL are lower than for other sports. But with four professional sports teams already in Toronto, it's yet to be seen whether the city can support another venture.
The Phantoms lost 61-54 to the Buffalo Destroyers in their Saturday debut.

I think he was pushed to take matters into his own hands. I have a teenage son and if he was involved with a drug dealer I would be furious and try anything to save him like this father did for his daughter. Why do police often say they can't do anything until it's too late? Whether it be a drug dealer or an abusive spouse, the police can't seem to do anything until something really bad happens. In this case they could have raided the drug dealers home and arrested him. The whole town knew what was going on in that house but yet the police chose to do nothing. Release this man and give him a medal for doing the right thing by his daughter. I can't wait to see the episode on W5, I will certainly be watching this one.
