Police believe computers may hold clues to murder
Date: Sat. Jan. 27 2001 7:53 PM ET
Hundreds of mourners turned out to remember David Buller Saturday. The University of Toronto art teacher was stabbed to death in his office last week, and police are still investigating the murder.
Police still haven't charged anyone with the murder, but the investigating officer said he believes Buller's computers may hold important clues.
We're not ruling out anything right now,
said Det. Ken Taylor of Toronto's homicide squad.
Taylor said police have seized Buller's computers, both from home and office, and have sent them to a lab in London, Ont. for testing. An Ontario Provincial Police computer expert will look at emails and other evidence.
Buller, 50, was an artist and a popular art teacher at U of T. He was found dead in his office Jan. 19, apparently of chest wounds.
About 500 people attended Buller's memorial service Saturday afternoon, at U of T's Hart House. An undergraduate fine arts scholarship fund in Buller's name was also established this week.
After the service, Buller's niece Karyn Sandlos spoke to reporters. This is a fearful time for people,
she said. I suspect it is a fearful time for the killer.
