Date: Saturday Jan. 20, 2001 12:57 PM ET
Princess Margaret, in hospital for treatment of what was suspected to be a stroke, went home Saturday.
She walked out of London's Edward VII Hospital with a nurse by her side and made her way to her Kensington Palace home in a red Rolls Royce.
Buckingham Palace said Princess Margaret will join other members of the family on Monday at Sandringham, the Royal Family's country estate in eastern England.
The 70-year-old sister of the Queen was admitted to hospital on Jan. 10 after experiencing a severe loss of appetite and concern she may have suffered a stroke.
Doctors said the princess may have suffered a repeat incidence of a stroke she suffered in 1998.
According to the British Broadcasting Corp. (BBC), Princess Margaret was confined to bed at Sandringham over the Christmas and New Year period and was seen by a doctor.
Princess Margaret has had a number of health problems over the years. A chain smoker who often had up to 60 cigarettes a day, the princess had part of her left lung removed in 1985.
Princess Margaret had a previous stroke in February 1998 while on holiday in the Caribbean. And last year she scalded her feet while taking a bath.
