Seymone Cohen-Fobish was cut from “America’s Next Top Model” for having a bad attitude and not taking the opportunity seriously, but the eliminated contestant says the judges never took the time to understand why she was feeling that way.

“I was taking it seriously. The only time I ever was upset was when I was at castings. That’s because they never had any clothes to fit me so basically I had to sit there and watch all the rest of the girls do their castings,” the 19-year-old plus-sized model from Augusta, Georgia, tells CTV.ca over the phone.

“I just thought it was completely unfair because they knew that I was there so why didn’t they have anything (except) sample-sized clothes?”

Seymone is referring to a challenge at the Beverly Hills Hotel where she and the other girls had to audition to walk in shows for the Dorchester Collection Fashion Prize.  She wasn’t chosen to open any of the shows and was visibly upset.

“Nobody ever asked me why I was upset at the castings, so all (the judges) heard at panel was, ‘Oh she was upset the whole time’ . . .  I think it was just a big misunderstanding.”

Judge Kelly Cutrone also thought Seymone was rude during the challenge and complained about her walk. But Seymone says that was criticism she needed to hear.

“I can take somebody telling me, ‘OK, your walk is horrible,’ because then she’s trying to help me. At least she cares enough to say something and doesn’t just let me make a fool of myself.”

But despite thinking Seymone’s Hello Kitty photo was too “show and tell,” host Tyra Banks also offered her some encouraging words on her way out, telling the young hopeful her platform is bigger than her, and she should show the world how she can represent her (plus-sized) body.

“Coming from her . . . obviously she’s not plus-sized, but she’s pretty curvaceous, it’s encouraging and she’s somebody I’ve looked up to ever since I knew who she was.”

Seymone adds that she is grateful for everything she learned on the show and plans to continue pursuing her dream.

“I plan on getting signed and (to) continue modeling . . . I feel like I have my foot in the door, now it’s just time for me to put the rest of my body through.”

She also plans to come back to Canada, after falling in love with our fair country during an “ANTM” shoot at Toronto Fashion Week.

“I loved it there. I like the cold,” she says with a laugh. “I have an adopted Canadian family and we’re going out to see them. I’m going to play in the snow most definitely.”
